At what seemed like the height of her career, and at the age of 20, Rachael walked away from her record deal with both a feeling of burnout and a sense of curiosity after spending most of her teen years on a tour bus. She joined her siblings in forming a ministry in Nashville called People Loving Nashville which provides people who are experiencing homelessness both practical needs and resources, and consistent and genuine friendship and community.
They have just celebrated 15 years of service, having never missed a Monday night outreach. Rachael spent a lot of time with women through prison ministry which re-awoke a desire in her to write songs again. During the pandemic in , Rachael started to dream again and from what started as a conversation between a few of friends at a bible study Andrew Ripp and Ethan Hulse , new music was born.
A lot of my identity was wrapped up in achievement and performance when I was younger. Now I just feel like I get to do it because I enjoy this gift from the Lord and get to give glory to Him through it from a free and honest place.
